Olloclip 3-in-1 iPhone Camera Lens Review

Moe December 14, 2012

The Olloclip 3-in-1 lens is truly a remarkable accessory for the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4S/4. What it does, is enhances the way that the stock camera takes pictures. The Olloclip fits over the camera like a miniature jacket and has 3 different lenses attached to it. In the front it has the ‘fish-eye’ lens, which gives the camera a circle, globe like look to it. The second is the wide-angle lens, which is perfect for landscape pictures as it covers more area, and the third is the macro lens, which is by far one of the best lenses for it.

What the fish-eye lens does, is it allows you to take any scene you want a picture of and what you’re able to do is have it in an almost sphere shape. Which distorts it so it has a very cool looking feature. It pushes the depth inward 360 degrees and you have a nice and crisp picture, perfect for unique photos. People usually use the fish-eye lens to give it an almost unreal look to it, which is really a nice feature.

The wide-angle lens does exactly what it sounds like. Imagine wanting to take a picture, but you have very limited space and just can’t get all of it to fit onto your phone’s screen. Just hook this up and you’ll have additional space, without moving at all! It extends depth perception and allows you to take beautiful landscape pictures, either of nature or even social events.

The macro lens has to be my favorite out of all of them. It allows you to take pictures, so close, that you will be able to see the pixels… on the new iPad. That screen is retina, and in the video above you can see the pictures clearly! That truly is a remarkable lens.

Now, the kit does come with the 3 lenses as states before, but it also comes with 2 lens covers for the fish-eye and wide-angle lenses. It also comes with the adapter for the iPod Touch so you won’t have to order a separate one exclusively for the iPod. It does cost $70.00 USD, but it is well worth the money. You can head on over to Olloclip and grab yourself one now!

Look below for what some pictures look like after they’ve been used with the lens.
